Mayfield Mayfair – a traditional May festival in the lovely village of Mayfield, in the heart of the Wealden district of East Sussex – this year includes many sporting and community events in celebration of London 2012 Olympics

The traditional Mayfair each year includes Maypole dancing, crowning of a May Queen, Morris dancing and music.  This year it is expanded with events that encourage sporting and community activity.  These include races for children, BMX & skateboarding demonstrations & coaching, rugby and football competitions, tug of war, visit from Special Olympics medalists, community activities and a horticultural display.

There will be a falconry display, bouncy castle and slides, barrel train and stalls. Food and drink will include Hog Roast and bars.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS: we are delighted to say that medallists from the Special Olympics Winter Games will be attending and showing off their medals along with athletes from the South Coast Division.
